Hi, I’m Nicole!

Residential Landscape Design Limited Only by Your Imagination

I am a Santa Cruz-based landscape designer with an ecological, whole-systems approach to my craft. I have master’s degrees in environmental science and conservation biology plus a background in art and design. From an early age I craved having purpose in my life and cared deeply for the environment. Landscape design is a perfect confluence of art and science and allows me do my small part in creating a healthier world for our children. I enjoy nothing more than designing beautiful and sustainable outdoor spaces that connect people to the peace of nature.

Our services are best-suited for projects that involve a full landscape transformation. We are not best-suited if you need piecemeal design or if you already have a very specific idea of what you want. In these cases, we recommend calling a local landscape contractor to install your vision.

We were so happy to work with Nicole on our landscaping project. We moved into a home that had a blank slate of a backyard and Nicole beautifully brought our vision for the space to life via her great design and knoweldge. Aside from Nicole being a lovely human being to interact with, there were a couple of things that stood out that I wanted to highlight: 1. Asks the right questions: Early on, Nicole zeroed in on how we wanted to use the space and learning more about our lifestyle to best advise us on what could work well given the two factors. Nicole is a great landscape designer. She is very laid back & easygoing, but also gets the job done. While we worked with her our project felt prioritized even though she has numerous other clients, and she was able to start the project fairly quickly. Her design reflected our initial vision and she put together a team that executed the whole thing very well and within our budget. It was a pleasure working with her and all of people she recommended to work with on installation! We love our yard now!

Woodling Landscape Design turned our neglected weed patch into a real, oasis-like yard. We came with only the vaguest idea of what to do with our underutilized yard and Nicole designed a gorgeous usable area planted with non-toxic, dog friendly native plants. The plants are adapting well to their new home and the neighbors are absolutely thrilled with the look of both the front and back of our house.

Nicole did a fantastic job on our Landscaping project in Aptos. She designed the entire exterior of the house for us to include a new spa, fire pit, built in BBQ island, porcelain tile patio, fountain, outdoor shower, and many beautiful plants.
